The
Shepherd finds little lambs in all kinds of different situations in need
of His loving help. John 10:13,14 Jesus said. "The hired hand runs
away because he is just there for the money and has no real concern for
the sheep. I am the GOOD SHEPHERD....And I lay down My life for the
sheep."
While walking down the hall in a nursing home in Oaklawn, a few days ago I heard a lady call out. "HELP somebody come help her." When I entered the little lounge (where they keep the Starbucks coffee machine :=)) a lady was halfway forward out of her wheelchair and the only other person in the room was another lady in a wheelchair across the room at another table. So seeing the lady reaching for her plate and fork on the floor, I picked it up and set it down in front of her on the table and helped her sit back upright. Believing strongly in God ordained meetings I asked her name and "how can I pray for you?' She mumbled something and started reaching for the different things on the table. I realized something was NOT quite right, so I prayed and put my hand on her shoulder and blessed her in the Mighty Name of Jesus. She grabbed the plate and held it out then pitched it and the fork onto the floor shattering it. I asked her did she not like the food? Then after another unrelated answer from her, I began to pray, claiming the Blood of Jesus and binding and resisting the enemy in this room. I then put my hand on her head and prayed blessings of supernatural peace and love and joy to come all over her. She got quiet so I said, Now YOU pray with me and was able to then lead her in a prayer. I gave her my Psalm 23 card and pointed to the Lord with the lamb in His hands and told her that is YOU now. She began to look at it and I turned to thank the other lady for calling me in and could I pray for her? She immediately said, I am OK I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I asked again would you allow me to pray for you? She relaxed and agreed that would be good. I prayed for her and claimed the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ washed us clean from all of our sins and we rest our souls completely in Jesus' loving hands. She thanked me and I gave her one of my Ps. 23 cards and went down the hall.
I visited and prayed with many men and women, then I saw a lady with her back to the door in a wheelchair by the second bed and Holy Spirit prompted me to go in and offer prayer to her. She was quiet and when I inquired she had just been told she had cancer, and "I just can't do this right now." I said let me pray for you and then I'll leave. She let me take her hand and begin to pray and after a few minutes I asked her to pray with me and she did. When I finished she said, "I feel much better now, thank you for coming."
Going by the lounge room on the way out I peeked in to see how the two ladies were doing. They were both looking at the Psalm 23 cards quietly!
Lastly I ask the Father if there is anyone else He wants me to talk to before I leave. The last patient room, "Carmen" was looking out from her room, Holy Spirit pointed me into her room and in a few minutes of sharing the Good Shepherd Story she was weeping and calling on Jesus letting Him gently pick her broken soul up into His loving hands and wash all her sins away and comfort her. I prayed with her roommate and then added that Jesus said these powerful words and of the billions of us who have walked the earth HE is the only one who NEVER lied or hinted at deception. He said, "YOU shall never perish, and NO one can snatch them out of MY hand." She looked very apologetic and began to say,"I am very sorry I don't have any money to give you."
I came over to her and said very seriously looking her right in the eyes. "When Jesus was on the cross was He asking for money?" NO! He was paying the whole price and He NEVER asked anyone in the entire Holy Bible for money, did He? He just wants you to receive from Him, that which money can not buy. His eternal comfort for your soul."
She cried and thanked me again as I prayed over her for blessings and healing before I left.
