Jesus in Genesis 3
Genesis the beginning. Chapter 2 verse 15 And The LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it. When Jesus came to earth He came to "put" man into the BEAUTIFUL relationship with God to live in His peace "that surpasses all understanding" The Garden of Edenic Love, Joy, and Peace of communion with the Holy Spirit all day as we walk with Him.
In verse 18 The LORD said, "It is NOT good that the man should be alone; I will MAKE him an helper suitable for him." Jesus is the one who came in with the idea of a man and a woman living in perfect harmony together LIVING, LOVING, and EXPERIENCING THE PRESENCE OF GOD TOGETHER.
Jesus is the creator of the Joy filled life, ("In His presence is fullness of joy for evermore") so He gave Adam the great privilege of creative thought in verse 19. He created a great managery of animals to look at, enjoy and name. When he had done that, Adam looked unfulfilled in his life. Since "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want/lack" Jesus made Adam fall into a deep sleep and performed a 'rib-ectomy' and made Eve for Adam to have a female companion, wife, and mother of his children and enjoy the wonderful relationship they had with Jesus together for ever.
Philippians 4:19 "My God WILL supply ALL your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
Chapter 3
Then the sneaky serpent slithered in and scammed poor Eve into the WORST DECISION ANYONE CAN EVER MAKE...to decide God didn't say what He said, and if He did, He really didn't mean it, SOOO I am going to go with what I want instead. BANG, now Adam had to be with his woman. Then they make the first camoflage outfits in history, demonstrating mankind's poor effort to cover his own sins by humanly inadequate means.
Jesus comes looking for them to fellowship and enjoy their company and finds they have violated His trust so He sets in motion the redemption story.
In chapter 3 verse 21 Jesus is pictured prophetically as shedding His precious blood (the skins of the animals He made coats for them out of) and becoming the beautiful picture, our covering of Righteousness Himself.
After He mercifully drove them out of the Garden of Eden before they could get in anymore trouble while they waited for the fulfillment of His Redemption, He locked the door and set guards at the gate. In John chapter 10 He explains that HE/JESUS IS THE DOOR/GATE. By Jesus giving His life for His sheep they can get in to the joyfilled presence of The LORD again.
In Jesus we have the Eden relationship; man and woman in harmony together.
In Jesus we see the One who cares so much for the well being of our souls that He comes seeking us even when we mess up our lives and run from Him..
In Jesus we are clothed in His righteousness by His sacrificial death.
In Jesus we are protected from the enemy of our soul being able to control our lives and make us miserable slaves to his wicked ways. Hallelujah what a Great Savior is JESUS!
